【解説】
日本の女性が初めて起こした市民運動とも言われる“米騒動”をテーマにしたエンタメ作。
3人の子を持つ女房であり米俵を浜へと担ぎ運ぶ女仲仕として働く松浦いと（井上真央）。女房たちは高騰する米の価格に頭を悩ませ、米の積み出し阻止を試みるが、失敗に終わってしまう。しかし、その騒動は地元の新聞記者によって報じられ、それを見た大阪の新聞社が“女一揆”として大きく書き立てたことで全国へと広まっていく。

[ Story ]
Entertaining film about the “rice riots” said to be the first example of citizen activism by women in Japan.
Matsuura Ito (Inoue Mao) is a wife with three kids who works as a female laborer hauling bales of rice to the shore. The wives are vexed by rising rice prices and their efforts to block rice shipments end in failure. However, the rioting spreads nationwide after a local reporter covers the story and a newspaper in Osaka splashes headlines about the “women’s uprising.”
