Director Hirakawa Yuichiro adapts to film the popular manga of the same name which has sold over 26 million copies worldwide and is soon to become serialized on television abroad. Orphan boys and girls learn the shocking truth about their own circumstances and try to escape from an orphanage.
Emma (Hamabe Minami) and others live together in a heavenly orphanage under the care of mother-figure Isabella (Kitagawa Keiko) as they wait for the day they are adopted by foster parents. But Emma learns by accident this establishment is a farm that raises children who are offered as food to a demon.
