【解説】
ハリウッド進出を果たした『プリズナーズ・オブ・ゴーストランド』の撮影直前となる2019年夏、園子温監督が自身のワークショップに参加した51名の役者たちと一緒に作り上げた青春群像劇。
カリスマ映画監督・小林（山岡竜弘）は、新作映画に演技経験の有無を問わず出演者を募集する。さまざまな経歴の持ち主がオーディションにつめかけるが、一方の小林は脚本づくりが難航。元恋人の方子（モーガン茉愛羅）に励まされ、製作に打ち込むが…。

Ensemble film that director Sono Sion created with 51 actors from the workshop he held in the summer of 2019, right before shooting his Hollywood premiere Prisoners of the Ghostland.
Kobayashi (Yamaoka Tatsuhiro) is a charismatic director who holds an open casting call for his new film, no acting experience required. People with varied backgrounds throng to the audition, but meanwhile Kobayashi is still struggling with the script. He manages to get the film into production with encouragement from his ex-girlfriend Katako (Morgan Maara), but things don’t go as planned.
