「ひとりぼっちじゃない」は、脚本家・伊藤ちひろが10年かけて上梓した同名小説を映画化した作品。行定勲が企画よびプロデュースを担当し、伊藤が自ら初めて監督を務めた。原作は、不器用でコミュニケーションがうまくとれない歯科医師・ススメの日記形式の小説。映画では井口演じるススメが謎の多き女性・宮子に恋をすることで、変わっていく自分、歪み狂っていく日々が描かれる。

【解説】
脚本家・伊藤ちひろが10年をかけて書き上げた小説を、行定勲監督のプロデュースにより伊藤自らの手で映画化。主演は、監督が脚本を執筆する際に当て書きしたというKing Gnuの井口理。
マッサージ店で働く宮子（馬場ふみか）に恋をした歯科医のススメ（井口）。人と上手にコミュニケーションが取れないススメは、宮子が自分を理解してくれることが嬉しかった。一方、謎の多い宮子のことを自分は理解できていないと思い悩む。

[ Story ]
Screenwriter Ito Chihiro spent 10 years writing the original novel, before adapting it for film herself. The film was produced by director Yukisada Isao and stars King Gnu band member Iguchi Satoru, whom the director had in mind when writing the screenplay.
Susume (Iguchi) is a dentist who falls in love with Miyako (Baba Fumika), who works at a massage parlor. Susume, who has trouble communicating well with others, is happy that she understands him. However, he worries that he does not understand the mysterious Miyako.
